Solid hardwood, and an honest word about slab foundations
We'll say this upfront: the vast majority of Greater Las Vegas Area homes are built on a concrete slab, and solid hardwood is not the right product for a slab. Solid wood needs a raised wood subfloor with airflow underneath to move with humidity and temperature changes, and nailing it directly to concrete isn't something we recommend or install. For slab homes, our engineered hardwood delivers the same real-wood look with a construction built for the job.
That said, some older Greater Las Vegas Area neighborhoods, custom builds, and homes brought over from other markets do have a genuine raised subfloor, and in those cases solid hardwood is a beautiful, long-lived option. If your existing solid floors have simply worn down rather than needing replacement, our hardwood refinishing service can often bring them back for a fraction of replacement cost.

We don't recommend it, and most manufacturers won't warranty it either - solid wood needs a raised subfloor to perform correctly. For slab foundations, engineered hardwood gives you the same real-wood surface with a construction rated for direct-to-concrete installation.
Most newer Greater Las Vegas Area tract homes are slab-on-grade, but some older or custom builds have a raised wood subfloor. We'll check during your free estimate - it's usually obvious from the crawl space access or original construction records.
